The Workers' Compensation regulations allows injured workers' to seek reimbursement for Travel and Other Expenses. The injured worker must submit an accurate C-257 form. This form can be found at the NY Workers' Compensaton Board's websiteC-257 Form. If a form is submitted directly to your adjuster it is recommended to keep a copy of the report and note the date of submission.
An injured worker may be reimbursed for mileage (round trip), public transportation or other necessary expenses incurred wen traveling for treatment or independent medical examinations. For timely reimbursement include all receipts with your C-257 form
The Workers' Compensation Board recomends injured workers' submit for those expenses at least every six month to the Board and to the insurer.
This is a medical benefit that remains open so long as medical treatment remains open.
